Hello, my friends! Just thought I'd update my Journal a bit and check how all of you are. It's been a crazy few weeks for me, with very little time for anything artistic outside of work. My job has taken a front seat to most everything at the moment. We're a 5 person operation when everyone is there, but we're down two people at the moment, which makes things somewhat hectic for the 3 of us left. Our receptionist had her baby a few weeks ago, followed by our supervisor's wife, who had her baby this past Saturday. He's been in and out of the office, but not working full days just yet, and that's understandable! But wow, it's amazing what two less sets of hands will do to an office. We're hanging in there, but only just! Hopefully things will be back to normal soon. Meanwhile mothers and babies and daddys are all doing fine! And what gorgeous babies they are...two boys, Sam and Beau

Some of you know that a very good friend of mine was in a head-on collision a couple of weeks ago, which has added greatly to my stress and worry. She was in pretty bad shape and was in ICU for a week in an induced coma, and we weren't sure if she was going to make it or not. There were no brain or spinal injuries, thank goodness, though her left foot and ankle and entire right leg were crushed, 5 ribs detached and broken from her sternum, a punctured lung, broken elbow and right hand (good thing she's a leftie!) and a myriad of cuts and bruises. She was released from ICU and given her own room last weekend, and I was so happy to get to see her! She looked pretty rough, but she was in awesome spirits and laughing and making jokes, and is looking forward to getting to come home and start her rehabilitation. She has a tough road ahead of her, but she's a fighter and nothing's going to keep her down for long. When we were leaving, she said 'Drive carefully...and please don't take that lightly!' Seeing someone going through all that she's been through sure makes you think twice when you get behind the wheel. This wasn't even her fault. She was coming home from visiting a sick neice, and in an instant her life could have been over. She was very lucky. The couple in the other vehicle weren't. They were killed on impact. I still haven't heard what the outcome of the investigation was, as to what happened and why their car went into oncoming traffic. I guess it doesn't really matter. We're just very, very thankful that she will be alright, and very, very sorry for the people who lost their lives. Such a tragic thing.
Well that's probably enough rambling from me for now. I'm exhausted. Think it's time to curl up with a good book and call it a day.
G'night all!
