These artists were carefully chosen because their work displays not only technical prowess and knowledge of the medium, but also a great deal of creativity. They are always imitated but never duplicated. They make me want to reach inside myself and be a better artist-- learn more, be more patient, try and try again. What is Vector Art?

In digital art there are two layer formats: raster and vector. Raster formats are based in pixels and vector is based in paths and points.

When you resize a raster image, you are expanding the pixels. Your program has to try to estimate what the colours would be for the additional pixels created. Due to this, the image loses it's clarity and creates a pixel effect.

When you resize a vector image, you are increasing the distance between the points. Due to this, the image doesn't lose it's clarity and doesn't pixellate.

The key element of vector is that it's infinitely scalable without any quality loss and it's why we love it!

What is a Daily Deviation?

A Daily Deviation is a site wide feature. These are selected from our galleries by Community Volunteers and from suggestions from ANYONE who is a member of deviantART!

I haven't been on the Daily Deviation page for quite some time and so I wasn't aware that the Vector DD moderator had changed... bummers. Why does it have to be a year?

Either way thank you very much for accepting most (if not, some) of my suggestions... But I think ChewedKandi isn't all that keen on accepting as many notes and suggestions so I will lay low for the time being

It was exciting though

I learned to feel more comfortable using vectors and masks and paths!

So besides suggesting, I also managed to advance my studies into the field of vectors, as well!

aww hun, thank YOU for all YOUR help!! I'm so glad to hear that I helped you get more familiar with vectors, that's so awesome! ChewedKandi is a very busy lady, and while this is her second time as the Vector GM, she has a lot less time to dedicate to it now, but she is still awesome
