Hello everyone!! As the new Community Volunteer for the Vector Gallery, I thought I might put up a few pointers about what I will accept as a DD and how to suggest to me either your own work or work by another artist that you think is great!
What is Vector?
Quoting `ChewedKandi because her definition says it all:
In digital art there are two layer formats: raster and vector. Raster formats are based in pixels and vector is based in paths and points.
When you resize a raster image, you are expanding the pixels. Your program has to try to estimate what the colours would be for the additional pixels created. Due to this, the image loses it's clarity and creates a pixel effect.
When you resize a vector image, you are increasing the distance between the points. Due to this, the image doesn't lose it's clarity and doesn't pixellate.
The key element of vector is that it's infinitely scalable without any quality loss and it's why we love it!
What is a Daily Deviation?

My DD Requirements/Rules:
EDIT: Thanks to ^KovoWolf, she is allowing me to feature DDs from the Anthro > Digital Media > Vector category!
To sum this all up, I can feature DDs from the following galleries:
Digital Art > Vector
Anthro > Digital Media > Vector
Cartoons & Comics > Digital Media > Cartoons > Vector
Cartoons & Comics > Digital Media > Comics > Vector
Fan Art > Digital Art > Vector
Customization > Wallpaper > Vector
So if you see something in any of these categories that you feel should have a DD, please feel free to send me your suggestions!
If you want to suggest a piece that isn't in these categories, please refer to this FAQ and find the CV in charge of the gallery you wish to suggest from. Please remember to only suggest a piece to ONE CV...suggesting to more than one can result in a lot of confusion.
Since Vector is the gallery that I am in charge of, I cannot feature Vexel or Mixed Media work (commonly referred to as a 'Vection' in some dA Vector Groups). In other words, if you suggest work to me that is 95% Vector but has a raster texture overlay or other raster elements (photos, filters done in a non-vector program, etc.), I cannot feature them.
If the piece has used dA stock art as a reference, and hasn't given credit to the stock artist, I won't feature the piece. I also won't feature work that has been completely traced, either posterise traced or traced directly from a stock source. I want to present Vector art that is creative, original, and shows skill in the Vector medium! The use of stock art as a reference is perfectly allowable, but we want to show the world what the Vector medium is truely all about, and dispell the myths that Vector is nothing but tracing.
Who can suggest a DD?
Anyone! Everyone!! You can even suggest yourself!!! Whether you're a free member or a premium member, no matter what your field of expertise, anyone can suggest a DD From any gallery to the correct CV for that gallery! So get out there and find some amazing Vector work and send me a note with 'DD Suggestion' as the subject, include a link/thumb code to the piece and maybe a word or two about why you think it should receive a DD
Just a few notes:
Thanks everyone & much love!
